So is there some kind of pattern for swiss dots? I've noticed in the forums that people refers to some swiss dots as freehand, so I'm just wondering if there is another way. I'm doing my first wedding cake with swiss dots in a few weeks. Thanks.

I bought a 1" dot impression mat that probably will work for swiss dots, I haven't tried it yet but don't see why it wouldn't work.

There was a post on this a few weeks ago that talked about impression mats and had some great suggestions for freehanding it. I'm going to try to attack the link.

If the link doesn't work, go to the search screen and type in swiss dots. Towards the bottom of the page, there's a post titled "Are there any tricks to doing evenly spaced dots?" by treys_girl04, posted on May 4, 2006.

Hope this helps! I'm going to attempt to do my first swiss dot cake soon, too (for fun). I think they look so pretty.
