Hello all,
I have a cake due this weekend with a My Little Pony theme. She has requested this pony and wants the waterfall in the background.

How would I go about making a waterfall on a flat cake? She specifically said in the background or else I would do it down the side of the cake. Any suggestions are much appreciated. TIA!
Depending on how big the sheetcake is, I use a cupcake or a 4" round. Or both if you are looking for a little more heigth.

I did a waterfall on my Madagascar cake. It wasn't in the backround though. I used a small oval and a small round
I recommend newtodecorating's suggestion as it gives a more natural shape. Also, tinted piping gel makes lovely water!
the 3-d effects are always great but if you're looking a way to keep it a "flat" cake, you could draw your picture on the cake or do the bct and add the waterfall in the background. when coloring the waterfall use a dark blue, light blue, and a white. draw lines with tips 3, 4, or 5 and alternate the colors. if you have any edible clear glitter, sprinkle that on it to give it the water effect. sorry if it sounds confusing. i have a couple of pictures of the same pony from a coloring book that i can scan and send you if you need them. it's not the same pose as on the plate, but it's a cute picture.
Thanks everyone for your replies! You have helped a bunch!
McCoy, thank you so much for your offer. However, she specifically wants that pose, so I printed it out from the internet. But thanks anyway!
