I LOVE your shoe freddy. You've done a great job. Even on the kids. We are all our own worse enemy when it comes to confidence in our own work. You've done a great job. I was going to do an old lady in the shoe cookie but the cookie would have been huge to fit all the kids I wanted to put in them. LOL

thumbs_up.gif great job

To everyone that has shared there talent this month thank you very much. I would love to be able to do the detail that some of you do on your cookies but have not practiced enough. I missed this month but am looking forward to June.

No, I didn't get to the nursery rhyme theme this month. Like Melvira said, maybe by the fourth of July! icon_rolleyes.gificon_wink.gif Actually I don't have kids, (nor would I have any clue what to do with them icon_rolleyes.gif) so I was really at a loss with this theme. I liked all the other submissions though! icon_biggrin.gif

I have my final entries for the month. I am adding two more. I figure since I didn't get any done last month I can use an extra one this month LOL.......... The first one is:
Jack be nimble,
Jack, be quick,
Jack jump over the candlestick.

The second one is:
Tom, Tom the piper's son,
Stole a pig and away did run!
The pig was eat, and Tom was beat,
Till he ran crying down the street.

Both are really big cookies. Jack is 10 inches tall by 6 inches wide
Tom is 10 inches wide by about 6 inches tall.

Wow, nice work freddyfl !!!!! You picked some good, fun rhymes.
You're not going to let your kids eat these, right??? They should be wall art!!!

Thank you! =) Especially for saying my name in the same sentence as Nancy's, because I am NO where close to her abilities.....hopefully some day though! And to answer your question Nancy, it is food to be eaten. It may look pretty, but I make sure they taste good. Otherwise I might as well have done it on cardboard LOL. BUT I must have about a zillion pictures of it first....then I can let them go. =0)

Nothing like waiting until the last minute icon_surprised.gif ! Here's my Jack and Jill entry for this month. It's Jack and Jill before Jack broke his crown icon_biggrin.gif

Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
and Jill came tumbling after.

Mr. Sun looks like he's on his third cup of expresso!!

Hope this works, first time posting a pic in a thread icon_razz.gif

Thanks Marthaj01 for your help with shrink pictures!!! I tried it again and hopefully this pic came out better. Praying to the cookie god again!

I finally have a cookie! My saga is long so feel free to skip it. When nursery rhymes was chosen, I knew exactly what I was going to do. A long time ago my children would actually let me choose their Halloween costumes and make them. One year they were little bo peep and her sheep. I was going to make this cookie out of their picture with royal icing.(which I had never used before).Sat, I was finally caught up enough to dig out the picture, yes that can be cut to cookie shape. Scanned and adjusted it to the size I needed. Sunday, I now have cookie dough in fridge for tomorrow and royal icing. Monday evening cut out cookie using my template (this is going to be so cute), bake and I'm ready to go. This is where the saga begins, you need to be able to draw. I can't, not even a straight line. I am not doing an edible image this WILL be in royal icing. I find a coloring book page online and simplify my cookie. Still can't draw. Ok, they do transfers with buttercream(not done that either) why not with royal? Now I know, they crack and crumble when you pull them off the sheet. I am still trying to figure out how to the picture on the cookie, when I pull in the garage and lo and behold, my overhead projector sitting on the shelf. Now we are on to something. (this is not a cake projector it one I used to paint on my walls). I drag it upstairs and that is where my husbands finds us, me with a very heavy projector held over my head and my son underneath with a piece of paper trying to find a spot where the cookie will not be 5 feet tall and you can still see the outline. What ARE you doing? asks he. I am trying to get this picture on a cookie says I. Isn't that why you had to have that printer, because you can't draw? Mouth drops to floor, is this man a genuis or what? (did I mention I am blonde?) So here is my cookie, (and inspiration picture), it is rbc with edible image outline filled in with royal.

Kimkait, that is awesome!!!

What do you all use to shrink your pics to fit? I tried and mine came out blurry icon_cry.gif

cookie creations, I love your cookie. To resize for edible images, I use Microsoft word. I right click the picture and choose format and then for the layout I choose tight. This allows me to pull the corner of the picture and make it as large or as small as I want. I also can copy and paste to make multiples. It seems to print faster and not use as much ink, as a photo editing does. For photo editing I use Hp image zone.
