Has anyone tried adding cheesecake pudding to a DH cake mix? It sounds good, but I'm wondering if it would be best with yellow, french vanilla, or white cake mix. Anyone tried this?

I have used white chocolate pudding in white cake mix. It was great just try which ever one you want and then you can tell us. thumbs_up.gif

I have added a cheesecake pudding to a strawberry cake mix and it was very good. It doesn't give it a cheesecake flavor so I think it would be fine to put in any of the mixes.

I used a cheesecake pudding mix along with the cake mix extender in a white cake on Tuesday. I couldn't detect any cheesecake flavor at all. I was hoping I would be able to taste the cheesecake. I'd like to know how to get it to taste like cheesecake, I think it would be awesome with cherry pie filling.

Since all of my local Wal-Marts stopped carrying the white chocolate pudding, I now use the cheesecake pudding in my white and vanilla cake mixes. It does not lend any cheesecake flavor to the cake at all and does not affect the color (unlike regular vanilla pudding). icon_smile.gif

I used a cheesecake pudding box in a Betty Crocker Super moist chocolate cake mix and it was very good. No cheesecake flavor, but rich and moist.

If you want a cheesecake flavor use the jello cheesecake mix as your filling with a layer of cherry pie filling that is my most popular request with the french vanilla cake.

cakesondemand, do you mix the cheesecake mix and the cherry pie filling together or do you layer them on top of each other.

I just layer cherry on the bottom then the cheesecake. I also use raspberry or strawberry.

Cakepro - you know it's funny. Our local Wal-Mart stopped carrying the cheesecake flavor and now only has the white chocolate.

I use the cheesecake flavor (I can find it at my local FoodLion) exclusively in my white DH. It's not detectable but gives it that "certain je ne se quois"

i added jello nobake cheesecake to my yellow cake mix and then added the cake ingridients and mix with mixer . it was oh so good. I call it. my cheesecake cake. I added the cream strawberry jello mix in the middle . it tasted like strawberry cheesecake.
