Alot of verry good points...
berryblondeboys - My daughters Great-grand parents undermind me all the time... and when my daughter comes home here come the temper tantrums! so i understand where your going with under minding the parents / grandparents
Heather - the $50 isnt too expensive. The problem is that the Dinosaur cake only feeds 12-15 people. so i would need 2 cakes and small slices, so its she thought the $100 was too expensive for a 7th birthday party! (im with her on that one)
Amy - thank you for your kind words, i know that im not stepping on toes.
But all in all i have decided that im going to wait on it before i commit. And assuming that i dont end up with a slammed week, i am going to call and ask if it is ok that i bring the 3-D dinosaur cake as my gift (even if it doesnt get eaten right away it will be a great addition to my portfolio!
)
I think that it is great that you would do that for her.
I think there is a difference in spoiling someone and making a special day for them even more special.
Myself as a parent to a child that gets what she wants, but also knows when I say no I mean it. I think that it is wonderful, I never refuse a gift to my child because I have deemed it to expensive or spoiling.
But it may be best to let them know or do like you said and incoperate it into the sheet cake on a smaller scale.
