Ok this is for my daughter's first birthday. I am trying to figure out what size of pans to use for the topper. Also if neither of these look good can you tell me what I should I get? Thanks!!

I, too, like the smaller round for the topper. The second choice.

I also like the 2 rounds as opposed to the round on the square.

Oh I think it would be qute to use the smaller round on top of the big square and offset it and put the smaller horse on the bottom level.

I like the square bottom with the smaller round tier, just because I prefer working with square cakes and if I'm not around to cut it, then just about anyone can cut a square cake!

It depends on how many you need to feed. I like both designs. Though the rounds stand out better. If you had a smaller square that would work also on top of the larger one.

Ok so most of you like the idea of doing the square bottom and the put pillars and use the small round on top. Put the bigger unicorn on bottom and the small one on top? I am still trying to decide if I want dd to have the entire top cake for her smash cake. It is to feed about 12 people. Whatever left over we have I will just send it home with guests!!

I prefer the two rounds....although I think the square and round would look nicer with a smaller top round! Either way, it's going to be fantastic I'm sure!

I like the round with square bottom. You can really make the bottom teir pop by putting a large rose on the top of the corners of the square.

I really like the idea of putting a rose in each corner on the bottom!!

Any ideas on if I should put Happy Birthday on it? My first thought was to use purple fondant and then use a cookie cutter and cut out happy birthday. Since everyone knows it is her first birthday I just don't know if I should have it on the cake also. Or where to put it.

Small round, offset on square, no pillars, small horse. Writing depends on what else you're going to do. I, usually don't write on my cakes unless it's requested.

I like the 2nd one the best. But I do think you need to have it say Happy Birthday and how old she is. The reason for that is when she is 40 and is looking back at pictures from when she was little, it would be easier to know it was he first birthday cake. After all she only turns 1, 1 time in her life and it's something that you are excited about.

Yes to the message- even if the message is simple ( Sarah's 1st ) or (Sarah's 1st Birthday).
I think I would only use the smaller figure, not both, as a topper.
And I would use the smaller round, over either the round or square- pillars or no pillar.
Don't htink I would use the larger horse btwn the pillars, but don't have a better suggestion for what to put there.
I may use the larger figure sitting at the base of the cake.
Sorry to confuse things even more!

I'm with amysue.

If you'd like to have writing- just write on the side of the cake facing forward.

I think I am going with the pillars but do they make different sized pillars? The ones I have when I put them in the cake then there will not be room to put the large unicorn under it. I also found at the party store these candles that have two stars and a #1 so that will also go on top and I may add her name to the side of the cake. Just depends on how it looks when I get to that point.
