does anyone know where i could possibly rent cake stands?

I'm not in your area, but around here we can rent them at party supply rental stores. These are the stores that rent the tents, chairs, tables, etc.
Some bakeries or bakery supply stores (not the chain stores) rent also.
If you're not in a hurry, you might be able to find some good deals on ebay.
