Hey guys;
Another one of my attempts to be a profesional cake decorator,lol.This cake was a last minute thing,I started it last night and this is the result of it this morning.Originaly lady told me she wanted Thomas cake,and I was getting prepared all week for Thomas cake(face and all the little details),than last evening she calls and she said the boy changed his mind and he wants a Lightning McQueen icon_eek.gificon_surprised.gificon_cry.gif .That was the biggest wake up call I got.I didn't even know where to start,but this is the outcome.Please tell me what do you think icon_smile.gif .

First of all, Excellent job!!
Second....She called the evening before to change a custom ordered cake???? I would flip out! I would kindly let her know that there is a window of opportunity to make any changes to any custom cakes!!

I think is is perfect! Did you carve the car or did you just happen to have a pan laying around that would work. I hope you charge her a fee for such a last minute change!

1st of all let me say wonderful job... 2nd of all I have vowed no more cars cakes... I don't know what but I HATE THEM.... I have only used the wilton pan and I hate decorating it for some reason... never resented a pan before but this one I do.

I love how you did the checkered flag sheet, I tried it too but mine didn't look near as good as yours... did you airbrush it? I have an airbrush got for V-day, never used it, I KNOW PEOPLE DON'T Cringe.. I am just afraid, plus I had my little boy on Feb 28, so time isn't as free... but I plan to use it today (oh and I said that yesterday too!)

You did a wonderful job, and even last minute I would have never known!

Wow,thank you guys.I just delivered it a few hours ago.She seemed like she loved it.Althou she was sad that most of the kids that were invited canceled and she was going to have only like 4 kids there or something like that.I kind of felt bad for her and didn't charge her anything extra.But she did seem to love it.Thank you guys for your replies,I knew I could depend on you.

The cake is great, and to do that at the last minute. I'm sure had it been me, I would have had to waste blue icing, I don't know how I would handle a last-minute change. You did great!
