I went to ice my cake last night with the Buttercream with butter for cake decorators and I couldn't get it to stick to the cake! This is the first time I have used this icing and the first time I have ever used this recipe. Any ideas on what I did wrong? I got the cake iced, but it had way more crumbs than normal because of the sliding. Help!!

couple of questions...
did you use real butter?
was it too soft (right consistancy)??
did you use a crumb coat?
or an icer tip???

I have also had soem problems with buttercream - - I think I used too much corn syrup and the house was too hot - - try turning on the air conditioner and possibly the icing will crust up then - - - did you crumb coat first and let it set up and crust first? - - - maybe your buttercream was too soft - try adding more powdered sugar to stiffen it up! i always use a very stiff icing to crumb coat and then soften it up for the second coat!
