www.cakework.com and tried it? My main questions is how do you work with this? Specifically the chocolate roses?
First of all, welcome to Cake Central! Wow, that cake is really beautiful. I'm guessing those are gumpaste roses. That one is WAAAAYY beyond my skills.
Wow!!!! What a beautiful cake. I wish I could be of some help. But, that is way beyond my skill level at this point. Oh to dream of being that good.
Welcome to CC. This is such a great place to be! Hopefully, someone else can give you some more info. There are so many talented people here.
There is a previous forum feed on candy chocolate clay roses..http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopic-5077-previous.html
If that link didn't work..type in "chocolate roses" in the forum search and you'll find it. Sorry.
Those cakes are incredible! Did you notice that they start at $8 per person? I have never seen a site like this.
I love their cakes! I have been a fan for a while. Their cakes are in several of my books and a magazine I just bought this month. I want to be them when I grow up!
This is a very very cool site! I don't have time to peruse everything right now but believe you me, I will!!!!!
Welcome welcome!!!!!

Wow. I am still... ...I don't think I even have the skill to be appreciating what I am looking at. Those are masterpieces and the work that goes behind them is making my head spin.

Who is inhaling the images of that site.
Well Arnie, if and when you accomplish that montrosity of a cake (in a good way) PLEASE post some pics for us! It looks amazing!!!
Their cakes are in several of my books
Can I please ask which books? I'd love to see more detailed photos of their work! Thanks!
I would also love to know which books they are in. These cakes are truly amazing. Thanks.
Hey all, I just got finished making the "experimental" chocolate clay roses, they turned out nicely. I do have a question though. When they get room temperature the petals have a tendency to fall in and become pliable. Did I use too much corn syrup? The roses that are on the website appear to keep their shape. I'll keep trying but if anyone has suggestions please send 'em my way. BTW the magazine that feature the cakes from the weblink is Simply Creative's Weddings Spring 2006 edition.
Well after toiling away in the kitchen all of Saturday afternoon. My first attempt at making these chocolate clay roses came out really nice. I have pics posted in my album. Please feel free to leave comments, suggestions or whatever. Thanks for looking.
Hi guys... some of their cakes are in Beverly's Clark's Book of Wedding Cakes, more are in For your Wedding Cakes by Bette Matthews, and a stunner is on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens Weddings magazine. This cakes is unreal, and there are more wonderful one inside. It on sale until may 30th.
