It is usually in June. It runs about 3 weeks. I live about 45 minutes away, and my girlfriend and I make a day of it! Just make sure you bring your charge card!!!! Just about everything is 1/2 price, and you can find some discontinued items. They also have picture frames, scrapbooking items, and a lot of kitchen gadgets. You would not believe it!!!
The tent sale usually begins the last weekend in May/first weekend of June. My guess is that this year it will start on Fri. June 1.
It runs for about 3 weeks.
It's held at the Wilton Industries headquarters campus -- 2240 West 75th Street Woodridge, IL 60517 . It's NOT at the Wilton Store or School on Lemont in Darien.
They have nearly every product on sale at 50%+ off. Not only do they have yearbook stuff, but they also have other lines that they own on sale--scrapbooking, kitchen tools, frames, wedding favors & print them yourself invitations, etc.
It's a madhouse,--about the size of half a football field, so plan to spend some serious time in the tents. Make sure that you have plenty of room on the credit card, too.
When I went 2 years ago, if you were attending a class at the Wilton School when the tent sale opens, you got to go a bit earlier with staff and you got an additional 10% off.

Tons of hotels nearby, many with Wilton negotiated rates. Check the Wilton.com site under classes and accomodations. You can call the hotels and see what they can do for you. Another way to find one is to go to sidestep.com and search for a hotel near the address. You can probably get something for about $50-60/nite.
Have fun!

Thank you I thought about this sale I always wanted to go and this year I'll be they. Thanks,
For anyone who might want to fly to the sale, Southwest has super cheap fares to Chicago Midway. The airport is about 35 miles from the sale. You can take 3 suitcases 50lbs. each, so if you pack really light, you can take home a lot of stuff. The Holiday Inn Willowbrook Hinsdale has a free shuttle from the airport and the shuttle will take you to Wilton Industries, too, so if it's a quick trip, no need to rent a car.

SugarBakerz I'm flying up there on the 3rd of June about 4:00pm I'll throw a rope down make sure you catch it.
OMG Wilton Tent sale. I went 4 times last year and spent almost $2000. I think I bought 1 (some things 2 and 3 of cuz I forgot I had already bought them) of everything. You just lose your mind when you go in there.
You can walk down each aisle over and over and still see things you did not see 5 minutes earlier.
I already have a list ready for this year's sale for things I am needing--not that you would think I needed any more, but ...........
COMPLETELY ADDICTING is all I can say. Thank goodness I only live about 1/2 an hour away. Then again, maybe not ..........
If you can go, you DEFINITELY have to !! You will not be sorry. Just try to have some sort of idea what you are looking for because you will get completely overwhelmed when you get in there.
So for those of you who have been, what kind of stuff are we talking about for sale? Anything I could find on my Michael's Wilton isle? Just curious, I am thinking of making a trip and don't want to unless i HAVE too.... so the more information on what is available would be better.... ! Thanks!
EVERYTHING !! Pretty much anything Wilton's makes is at the tent sale for 50% off. New items, older items and some discontinued items. Cake pans, cookie sheets, cupcake liners, sprinkles, comfort grip cutters, parchment paper, wedding cake items, candles, decorating tips, some kitchen line Wilton's puts it's name on (cannot remember the name), cake boxes, spray color, frosting, fondant and fondant accessories and MORE. Way too much to list, just pretty much everything Wilton's carries is there.
The tent is HUGE--like someone else mentioned about half the size of a football field. The rows are LONG and double sided. As I said, you could walk thru it once and think you saw everything then make a second trip around and see things you missed.
I would strongly recommend it if you can go. Some of the stuff, when it's gone, it's gone. But everytime I went, it was pretty much restocked. They have daily specials too. One day when I went last summer, I got the big heavy duty cookie sheets for $2.49 each. It is just awesome and I cannot wait to go back this June.
my husband is a huge chicago bears fan why can the tent sale be on when they play so I can make him think we are going up there for him? I wish I could go
