Can flowers made from royal icing be frozen like the bc flowers can? I was hoping to make some in advance but was unsure of how to store them... thanks. Heather

RC flowers will keep for a long time in as long as they are in a covered container. I wouldn't freeze them. I would thing that from the moisture they would get soft and melt.

I agree with revel. I've kept RI flowers in an air-tight container for over a year...just keep them out of the sun, or the color may fade on you. icon_smile.gif

just store RI flowers in boxes, but if you have to freeze a cake with RI flowers on it that is ok too. they will not melt!!! i have done this.

I froze RI flowers before and they turned out just fine. I made them on the Thursday and froze them overnight in an airtight container, assembled the cake Friday and served it on Saturday.

OTS - BC Baker, I take it you are in BC? Where abouts, I'm in Maple Ridge.
