a tiered cake covered in white fondant with black cow spots would be awesome!

That's what I was thinking too, and how about some gumpaste horns out of the top for a grooms cake? icon_smile.gif

I did a western-themed shower cake and used various ideas - all except the cow pattern - but it might give you some ideas. Pics are in my gallery.
It is a wedding after all - do they want something kitchsy with barnyard animals all over it or do they want something elegant with a hint of the cow?
There are lots of cute ideas on here... I'm sure you'll find something to spark the creativity!
Good luck and post pics!

That's funny! The white and black spots came to my mind also.

This might help:

Cow (spotted) wedding cake w/step-by-step directions.

Be aware however, that on the initial page - the topper is two horned heifers ((female cows). Might want to modify that for your cake, i.e., one with horns and the other with mammaries.
