Here is one I did with an online tutorial that unfortunately doesnt work anymore. But I will try to describe.

You need 2 8 inch round cakes

Cut cake layer 1 in half and ice tops (side a and b). place sides together with cut edges down forming a half moon shape. This gives you the body.

Cut cake layer 2 in half. With one half trim around the round side to make it a little smaller for the head. The part that you cut off will be used for the ears. Cut the other side in half again forming quarters. this is for the back legs.

Attach back legs to the cake with icing, round sides toward the back.

Place head cut side down, standing up in front of the body.

With the part you cut off of the head, create some ears.

I used a cupcake for the nose.

use a round tip to make the paws with icing by dragging it toward the legs (note there is no legs for the front)

Use the grass tip and LOTS AND LOTS of icing for the fur.

I made the tongue and eyes and nose with fondant.

I know that is clear as mud.
