icon_confused.gif Hi..there my name ia mery and I am desperately seeking a nice inexpensive printer to use for edible ink cartridges..any ideas? thanks!

The Canon iP1500 or iP3000 are great choices. You can do a froogle search to find one for sale at an office or electronics supply shop or check eBay (buy new though).

I just emailed kopykake asking about the ip1600 and they said no, it will not work. icon_sad.gif

No the iP1600 isn't yet compatible with the edible ink cartridges that are available. This may change in the future. KopyKake is working on new style cartridges. Not sure of the release date yet or exactly which printers they'll be compatible with but it will be the newer Canon models.

For the Canon iP3000, you need the 6000 set (4 cartridges). They look like this...

I just bought this one, the Home/Hobby Level Printer Package from Icing Images for $175 and LOVE it!! It was so easy and they shipped it quickly and I had it in 2 days!! icon_biggrin.gif

That system is a $50 Canon iP1500 printer and $75 worth of supplies. Total retail value is $125 so it's best to buy your printer and your supplies separately rather than as a package.
