It takes color very well. I've had problems with it staying put, however. I made a cake with an elaborate border, and the top border kept sliding off. I also used it on an egg-shaped cake, and the icing on the top portion of the cake started pushing downward until the whole thing looked like Homer Simpson's belly instead of a nice egg-shape. In the future, when I use this icing, I will keep the decorations light and simple. It does behave better than plain cream cheese icing, IMHO.

Hi,

Yes the crusting cream cheese icing will take color. I haven't used it for flowers, but I'm sure you could as I used it for cornelli lace and borders and it was fine. You can see it in my photos, the "Princess for the Day" one. Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

I've never heard of crusting cream cheese frosting until this site... what's the difference from my normal cream cheese frosting I make? Will be using for cupcakes... if that's any matter...
