Anyone have a recipe they've tried and love? If you could share I'd be so very grateful!
Hope this will help you!!

STRAWBERRY FROSTING
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon strawberry extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Directions:
Combine egg whites, sugar, corn syrup, water, salt and cream of tartar in top of double boiler. Cook over rapidly boiling water, beating with mixer until mixture until peaks form.
Remove from heat. Add vanilla, almond and strawberry extracts; continue beating until it reaches spreading consistency.
You could do a buttercream and add strawberry flavoring. Color it pink if you want!

What if I used a strawberry jam and mixed it with Buttercream? Would this work? Any ideas or experiences you can share would be appreciated. I want something simple, but tasty. Don't have a double broiler. Still want to thank Sweetstuff for the recipe! I might use it, but would have to improvise.
I've also thought about just adding smashed strawberries to buttercream.
What are your thoughts???
What about adding cream cheese to the frosting?
I had a request for white strawberry icing for one of my cakes. I just made buttercream and used strawberry flavoring (lorann oils) to flavor it. They loved it.

The strawberry jam sounds just a little too sweet. I think the best idea would be adding the smashed strawberries.

Is this something you can buy in the supermarket? Is lorann the brand name?
Thanks. : )

I had just talked myself out of that idea anyway. I think the jam is better used as a filling. Thanks. : )
