On the side of the box, do they have like a "fat free" recipe to make this? Sometimes they put those on the side, Do you have any margerine, or butter? It will change the texture of the cake a little but it is still workable. Just melt it in the micro and let it cool a little before you add it to the mix. I think it's the same amount of melted margerine or butter to oil. In a real pinch though you could use mayonnaise. But I think you have to re-calculate the eggs and water ratio or something. No the mayonnaise doesn't really add a vinegery taste either.

Do you have butter? I made a "butter recipe golden cake" the other day. It was Duncan Hines.

The back of the box said to add 2/3 cup of water, 1 stick of butter (softened) and 3 large eggs.

When you use applesauce hoe much do you use? And does it change the other ingredients you add? I always hear people talking about using applesauce but I never knew how to do it!

You use the same amount of applesauce that you would use of the oil. Makes a very good cake.
