I got Jacques recipe off the food network too!!! I'm dying to try it.

Tomorrow we're out of town visiting relatives and with all the holiday madness I still haven't had a chance to try it, so now it's put off till the 1st of the year.

You would do well to get his book Dessert Circus or Dessert Circus at Home. Both books have lots of great tips and ideas as well as great recipes.

awesome sugar work...I love it!!!! Just a small suggestion for the "paint"...you will get a finer line and a more professional look with a tiny tiny brush...try size 00, natural bristles....any craft store will have them. They will make such a difference.,...although the pieces are really lovely as they are.

Thanks,
icon_lol.gif She did use the thinest brush, the snowman was only 2 1/2 inches high. I used my macro to take a realy good closeup icon_lol.gif
And here is a royal icing ornament she did on the balloon.
And the cake the ornaments went on. I don't have a picture of the chocolate tree the snowman went on she has it in her camera.

What a gorgeous arrangement. I tried making chocolate balls a la Colette and they were beautiful but they collapsed because I didn't know anything about chocolate and didn't temper it. PastryDiva (I miss her) enlightened me....I'll post when I try them again....but what a great idea for ornaments!
