Q. was do you call it frosting or icing and what is the difference?

There is NO difference its where you live in this world as to what you call it..

heh... it's a difference between how I use it as to what I call it. Frosting goes on the cake. Icing is the decorations.

It sounds better to my ears if I say "the cake is frosted..." and "icing roses..." rather than the other way around.

Wish I could have voted for both at the same time. icon_smile.gif

I used to call it frosting. That was before I started the wilton classes. They called it icing so I started calling it icing too. Now when I get lazy & don't want to make icing... I get me a can of Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker frosting from the pantry!! LOL!!
