I have a recipe that calls for a tube of almond paste(not canned filling). I have homemade almond butter. Would this work the same. It is for a filling between layers. thanks

I would say no. Almond butter to me is like peanut butter only made with almonds very spreadable. Almond paste is very thick, not spreadable. Marzipan is made from almond paste.

almond butter would melt out of whatever your making.

The Almond paste wouldn't.

This is one that I would NOT substitute
