AWould you stack a 9-inch cake on top of a 10-inch cake? I feel it would look funny - especially by the time you add frosting and decorations?

What do you think would look funny - the giant top tier, or the only 1 inch difference between the tiers?

AYes, that's why. And I think there will be less than one inch between the tiers once you add buttercream and fondant or borders

I like to have a 2"-3" difference. Recently I had a customer that insisted on a three tier cake that was 10"x9"x8". It looked as bad as I expected.

ATwo things

1) I don't like having such a big cake the top tier, it can look funny to me.

2) I NORMALLY do 2 in different. But! A user on here AZCOUTURE does cakes with a 1" difference and that look awesome. She does like a 5/6/7/8 tiered cAke.

I think you could design it to look like kind-of one big cylinder - that could look quite good. It's not really a traditional look, no. Depending on what you do with it, it could look funky.

AI refuse to do anything bigger than a 6" tier on top, it just never looks right, imo. Any particular reason for choosing those sizes?
