I've been getting quite frustrated with the new damask only I bought haha. So my problem is it doesn't stick on the cake. I've tried putting cornstarch (different amounts) and if I put too much, then it doesn't stay in the onlay, if I put an average amount, some pieces still remain in the onlay after I peel it off the cake.

I can't get it to be perfect and its frustrating. I put enough gum glue at the back for it to stick on the cake, so I can't seem to know whats wrong with what I'm doing?

Any suggestions?

ADid you watch any of the videos on the marvelous molds website? I found they were helpful, since you get a visual of the amount of CS to use, and glue.

ADid you remember to give the Onlay a little stretch in each direction, to loosen the fondant just before applying to the cake? I only forgot one time,.! so I re-watched Marvelous molds video and it worked perfect! It is one of the most important steps in my opinion. And I found using the syrup worked better than the gum glue. I love the MM Onlays!
