Amazing Stabilized Whipping Cream

I Love this whipping cream because it is not too sweet and it goes really good with the 3 leches cake, and it is good to make borders a decorations, it is a recipe that I got from a friend of mine with some variations.

Amazing Stabilized Whipping Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 Pint heavy Wiping Cream
  • 5 tbsp. Powder Sugar
  • 4 tbsp. Piping gel
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla* or Aldmond* extract

Instructions

  1. Combine whipping cream and sugar in mixing bowl. Whip to soft peak stage. Add piping gel and vanilla, then continue to whip stiff peaks. ” DO NOT OVERBEAT ”
  2. * You can use coconut extract or strawberry or any flavor you like.

How much would this make? I'd need to frost a cake to feel 30 people and have enough to decorate...also, does it "melt" if left out at room temp for any length of time?

I use a similar recipe but I use: 1 tub of cool whip, 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbls meringue powder and 1-2 tsp peferred flavoring. I let it refrigerate for a bit before I use it. It does pretty well holding its shape and I received alot of commets on how good it tasted. It did set a room temp for quite a while and did just fine.

Sorry, what do you mean by piping gel? The stuff that comes in a little squeeze bottle in the baking section of the grocery store? Thanks!

Piping gel can be found online or maybe in craft stores that carry "Wilton's Piping Gel". It is a clear gel. Not the tubes of colored stuff you find in the baking isle of the grocery store.

Thank you so much for this recipe! I was at Walmart at 11:30pm last night purchasing a box of unflavored gelatin because I needed to have a cake iced with whipped cream early today. (I forgot to buy it when I purchased all of the other ingredients) then I searched for the recipe again and came across this one which only required piping gel. I already had that in my kitchen! I decided to try it and OMGosh! It was awesome. It only took 10 minutes to make. I doubled the recipe for a 9 X 13 X 4 sheet cake. It was a Tres Leche filled with fresh strawberries and after doubling it I was able to spread some with the fresh filling and ice and decorate the cake. I soooooo recommend this recipe! Oh but one thing..if you plan on leaving this cake white use the clear vanilla extract otherwise it will make it ivory color. otherwise, just add some coloring in it along with your gelatin and vanilla and you will be good to go!

Can you tell me approximately how much frosting this makes? and does it take color well? Iam decorating a 3D panda cake and the girl asked for whipped frosting. Thanks

just wondered if anyone has ever tried using meringue powder in this recipe -this helps reg. buttercreams crust over???
