This recipe for buttercream will help satisfy requests for a frosting that is not so sweet to the taste, but is still easy to make.

NOT-SO-SWEET Buttercream

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegetable shortening
  • 3 cups powder sugar
  • 1 cup of corn starch
  • 1 t-spoon of desired extract(s)
  • 4 tablespoons water or milk

Instructions

  1. 1. Beat shortening until creamy.
  2. 2. Mix in powder sugar and cornstarch.
  3. 3. Add liquids.
  4. 4. Mix at medium speed until creamy.
