Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake!

I love this recipe, it’s so good. My kids love this way more than a boring ol’ cookie!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake!

Ingredients

  • 2½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 lg eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 bag semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag m&m baking bits

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 300° F
  2. Mix flour, baking soda and salt together, set aside.
  3. Mix sugars together in a large bowl. On medium speed, add butter just till well mixed. Add eggs and vanilla, mix till blended. On low speed add flour mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and m&m’s.
  4. Put all the batter on an ungresed pizza pan. Shape it how you like. I make it the shape of the pizza pan ( 2 inches from the rim, otherwise it will go over) Bake 20-25 minutes or untill done.
  5. I make this with splenda sugar and splenda brown sugar and it tastes the same. I have also put it into a pie tin and just bake it a little longer.

your recipe says 1 1/4 cups butter, (3 sticks)), however wouldn't that make 1 1/2 Cups?

So my question is, should I use 1 1/4 cups or 1 1/2 cups?  Thank you in advance, I'd like to give this recipe a try.

First to GloriCreations: no it will not make it salty.  I promise ;-)

Second to basicsadie: I am sorry for the typo. ..3 sticks of butter is correct.  That should have said 1 1/2 cups of salted butter.

I have never made a round one and haven't tried pan sizes. .. Get the biggest one you can find!  ;-) if nothing else,  you can cut the recipe down for a smaller pan.

Hi cbrosado,

Can I use Cake Flour, if so will it still use 4 1/2 cups and no baking soda or power?

Just the recipe I was looking for! I have ten 12 inch rounds for an upcoming wedding. I need a recipe that I can flip out of the pan without tearing apart. I scored the slices when the cookie came out of the oven and then cooled completely before flipping out of the pan. They turned out perfect!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!:)

So, this ends up being just a giant cookie, not a cake, right. I have read it over twice, and trying to see where the cake part comes in.

A giant DUH on my part. When I read the name, I imagined a cake with small balls of cookie dough baked into it. (That would be yummy.)

This recipe is a make at home version of the ones they sell for lots of $$$$. A great idea! Thanks! Can't wait to try it!
