I have a question... did you feel like the cardboard/plastic stands were very sturdy? was there any doubt in your mind as to whether the cake would make it all the way through the reception without them either being too top-heavy, or someone bumping the table? I'm supposed to do a cake with this stand and I'm kinda nervous... THANKS!

The trick to the stand is to make sure the cake is absolutely, positively in the middle of the cake plate. The middle cake has a slight tilt to it and it was because the cake was off center by less than a quarter of an inch.
