The first wedding cake I ever made.
The first wedding cake I ever made.

I was asked to do a wedding cake for a Hawaiian Theme and I thought ok I will give it a try, I didnt realize how hard it was going to be. I had a hard time with putting the 4th tier on so I took it off because it made it lean even with all the dowel rods and the big long dowel rod in the middle it still made it tilt. Im still learning!! I had such a hard time smoothing out the buttercream frosting, I wanted to die. It took me hours to get it ready. I could not believe how much cake I needed and eggs and frosting...I definitly had no clue!! At first I didnt have all these flowers all over it, I had flowers only on top and you can see every little flaw and I wasn't happy so my sister n law said Im coming over and she brought me a bunch of hawaiian flowers and I just put them on and I was very pleased with how my First Wedding Cake out.

You did very well for your first wedding cake-it is a little nerve racking and an eye opener when you first do it, but it looks great Smile I definately like the floral spray going down the whole side.

Thank you for sharing this and your experience. I am getting ready for my first wedding cake ever also. I am nervous about doing the layering and transporting. I love the simple, elegant design you came up with. If you don't mined, I may borrow this idea because the bride wants lillies. Nice job! I hope I can do as well. And again thank you for sharing. Smile
