I made this cake for a district church event and earned first place for it. I will be taking it to regionals as well. The flowers are all red fondant. Piping was inspired by one of the Wilton yearbooks, but I found it easier to hand-pipe than to use the pattern. The crown of thorns is made from gumpaste.
