Gabriel's First Memorial Birthday Cake

This was the cake I made for my son's first memorial birthday. We has a get together to put information packets together for local hospitals to spread CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) awareness. The cake was lemon with a lemon mousse and iced in buttercream. The decorations are gumpaste. The bear and Red Sox mascot were modeled after the two stuffed animals that sat on my son's bed in the NICU.

Very sweet. I always bake my little man a b-day cake on his b-day. This year would have been his 6th. Can't wait to see the cake!

This is beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss. My son is also an angel and this would have been his 3rd bday. Sending many peaceful thoughts your way!

Having just lost my first born son 2 1/2 weeks ago at the age of 51 I find this so touching. My sons birthday would have been December 12th, we are not doing a cake, but we are sending off balloons with messages for him. I understand your loss and hurt, only another mother can truly understand.
