can't help much on the cake pans...but heard the name Magic Line tossed around...I don't have any but here is one link where they are sold

http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=magic+line+pan&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=3093270255&ref=pd_sl_7hpvax9qbd_b

as far as a smash cake...it is the individual cake made for a baby's 1st birthday...the one you set before them and they get to smash (maul, rip apart lol) all by themselves.

Search for smash cake in the galleries, I am sure there are tons of super cute ideas.

Global Sugar Art will run pans on sale quite often, but everyday prices are not bad either... a 10x10x2 Fat Daddio (ggod name) will run 11.00 (something.)

Keep in mind; however, that you probably won't get away with postage being less than 10.00 on such items... it might be cheaper in the long run to just purchase from your local cake supply store.

Edited to add there is nothing wrong with starting with Wilton.... although some will argue that. If you are needing to stay pocket-book healthy, you can use a coupon from Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's or Michaels and get one for up to 50% off!

Welcome, welcome Faffy,
I love my Fat Daddio pans. I got them from Pfeil and Holing online. I haven't spent time looking at cost comparisons with Global Sugar Art, so I couldn't say that one is cheaper than the other.
