Pictures Of Home/shop Supplies Organization

Okay ladies I have seen beautiful pictures of shops, but I would like to see pictures of how you organize your supplies, whether it's a shop or a home baker. That's if anyone is interested in sharing. I always look at the shops and if there's a background where it shows supplies I look really...hard to see the organization. Where boxes, dummies, colors, pans etc are kept and organized. Thanks.
How timely! I was just wanting to ask the same question but decided to do a search first! Hopefully someone can help out the organizationally challenged among us!

Ditto. I am in desperate need of help with the storage issues
OK! I'll play!
I am a hobby baker, with hopes of a licensed kitchen someday. I have accumulated quite a few tools and toys, with little space to store them. I dedicated a full-height pantry cabinet to cake toys and tools just a few weeks ago, and am so happy with how it turned out, and even more so with the steps and time it saves me.
The cabinet is taller than standard height, as I have 10 ft. ceilings, and is 24 inches deep by 15 inches wide. It was originally designed to be a laundry closet - a place to hang things as taken out of the dryer, which is adjacent (very old house - no laundry room!), but I seldom used it for such.
Not shown are my spatulas and a few other hand tools, cooling racks, which are stored above the ovens, turntables, Agbay and my KA and other appliances. Rolling pins, mats, pasta machine, etc. stored elsewhere. Foamcore is stored in the basement workshop, where I cut it.
Edited to add: I just noticed this is my 500th post!!
Grandmom,
Thanks for playing!!! You are awesome. Wow I'm impressed with your organization. I have a closet in my guest room full of cake things, and have another one under the stairs full of pans but I need to get better organized. I plan to build a room just for cake toys and for me to work in. Hopefully my dear brother-in-law who's a contractor will build it soon, and this is why I wanted to see how orgazized some you gals are. Whenever I need something I have to go everywhere in the house to look for stuff.
Thanks for sharing!
Yes, it really is helpful. Mine are all over the house too. We used to have a basement where I could store everything, but this new house does not. Sure creates a challenge!
I have about 1/3 of my basement tagged as future cake kitchen. About 1/2 is dedicated to our bevy of cats, and fortunately, is contained from the rest of the basement. We have a small section for storage and a small workshop. The rest will be kitchen if I have my way.
But I have to wait until the cat population passes on (no adoptions in the last decade, so the youngest is 10, the oldest 21!), as my DH has the future kitchen space occupied with his music stuff now. When the cat room is freed up (rest their little souls...), he'll move music to the catroom and then I can get busy.
Not tryinig to hurry the kitties to the next life though... I still have to keep my day job for a few more years anyway!
I'm a home baker too..A few months ago i completely cleaned out my spare room (you could barely walk in the room). I organized all my cake supplies, it's wonderful. Most fit into the closet and can be tucked away by closing the door. Here are some pics..If you want closeups of what's in the drawers let me know and i'll take some more pictures.
Mmmmm... cookies....
Looks great! Wish I had that much space. Well, I do, it's just that I use it for my sewing room.
So many hobbies, so few rooms...
One day, I'm gonna get organized and take some pictures. I have a very large home kitchen with lots of cabinets, so the cabinets on one whole side of my kitchen are devoted to cake stuff. Of course my pans are in the corner of the dining room in a divided cabinet of their own.
sjholderman, I DO love those ovens! They are so wide and roomy and their temp control is perfect. Having double ovens comes in so handy not just for caking but for large family dinners. I crowd the both of them come Thanksgiving.
Did you notice the warming drawer below? Most of the time it holds snacks, but a few times a year when we have those large family dinners, that thing is wonderful to have. Not only does it keep food warm, it is a proofing drawer for yeast breads. I lived in this big old house for about 15 years before we got that waming drawer, and could NOT get my yeast rolls and breads to turn out right. It was either too hot or too cold wherever I sat the dough. Not a problem now!
Wow....I feel so ashamed I have a big closet that looks like an atomic bomb hit it with everything in it a total mess. Here I was thinking I needed a bigger space when now I realize all I need is shelves.....duhhh.

Yea shelves do make it alot easier. Mine were up from when we had our closets done when we moved in. I dunno if you can tell in the picture but the spot where all the ribbons are is just a long dowel rod suspended by the shelving hooks. They had put those in for us in the event we wanted to move the shelves up as my son grew. I just figured i would use them instead of drilling new holes to hold up the dowel rod. It made a perfect spot for all my ribbons. It's up out of the way, using dead space and i can see what i have at a glance.
It's the best thing i did, clean that room. It's so easy to find what i need now and i don't feel overwhelmed everytime i walk in the room. Nice and clean.ahhhh
