Any one going to the NY Cake Convention in NYC Jan.2 and 3rd? I'm so excited to be able to attend one of these shows and see some fabulous talent. Check it out on cakeconvention.com

I'd love to, but by the time I priced out admission, plus one class, hotel and transporation, I was looking at well over $1000...and that doesn't include pocket money, lol I don't think I'll be able to go, it's just too expensive!

I'm going! I signed up for Michelle Bommerito's Romantic Wedding Cake class and got tickets for the live cake challenge. I'm considering making a wedding cake entry as well. What are you signing up for?

I was going to sign up for a class but decided I wanted to see the demonstrations instead. So I got tickets for that and for the Live Challenge. I am so excited. So many reknowned cake decorators are going to be there.
The tickets were a little pricey and you have to buy general admission in order to get any other tickets. Good luck in the class.

I had heard about it awhile back, then forgot. I'll have to check out the site. I hope I can get there, it would be my first.

Thanks for the information. I had not heard about this. I just ordered my tickets! I ordered the pass for the demonstration area and tickets to the cake challenge. After watching so many on TV, I always wanted to see one. I would have loved to take a class also, but it got expensive. I also did not want to bring supplies with me into the city. Maybe next year though.

It's in NYC - right across the street from Penn Station which is the main train station in the city. Go to cakeconvention.com for prices. It's kind of expensive, but it's going to be a Christmas gift !

Im going too! Not sure what to sign up for just yet, but Im going anyway, even if just to see whats there for next year. We have a cake decorators Meet-Up group here in "upstate NY", (the city folk call us "upstate," even though we are only about 1 1/2 hours north of the city!) and we are planning a "field trip" to the convention! I can't wait it will be my first. Its close enough to home that we can commute.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
