Decorating By Daytona Updated 8 Feb 2009 , 9:27pm by Daytona
can anyone help me I don't know how to convert the metric system measurements into us measurements for baking (ex. 135 g eggs or 59ml vanilla ) I tried looking on the internet but still didn't help me converting eggs. some pastry magazines I have are in metric measurements.

59 ml is approx. 1/4 cup and as far as the eggs... from what I could find it's approx 3 eggs. I hope that helps. GL
Not the answer you're looking for, but I highly recommend getting a scale (you can get a decent one under $30) and weighing your ingredients anyway. It's MUCH more accurate than volume measurements.
This site will convert just about everything for you

Here's an international conversions thread that might be helpful:

From the above site:
135g egg (beaten) = 4.71 oz
Click on the Weight to Volume option from the above link, choose the ingredient you're wanting to convert and it does the rest. HTH
Thanks alot for the help I actually was thinking of investing in a scale because the pastry books I get are mostly metric measurements and it probably woun't hurt to learn the metric way but for now the convertion sites are great.
