Hi
please please help here
this cake was a round 12" 3inch high
on top was an 8" 2" high with a wondermold on top but the wonder was only a litle bit more than the half and RKT for those horns?
almost completly edible except the balls of the hat and feathers
how many servings was that?
I tought was for 50
I was wrong??????/
client didnt even say how nice this cake was
Im new at this so it was a challenge
first time dealing with RKT
I am happy I was able to make what she ordered
mardi grass cake with a hat
she also gave 3 bags of feathers, cause the bags
had different colors in each
she was not happy that I didnt use more or all her feathers
I dont think more feathers could go in this cake?
it will look like a chicken!
she never said add feathers to the whole cake
so she didnt even said it looks nice
I gave her back her feathers and she had a look in her face!
she said I want a mardi gras cake with a hat on top 2 tiers
and a mask she was even going to purchase a plastic one
I even made the mask of gumpaste cause
I didnt want to put a plastic in my cake
I think those feathers I add was enough
she also complaint that was small
I dont know what kind of cake she expected then.
I even did more job that I was supossed to do
but I m not sure now about the servings
usually people tells me
they had cake left overs
so I went with wilton servings did I read wrong or I was right?
please how much you will charge for this cake
and those sizes makes for 50 people?
thank you in advance |

i think you did a great job. i wouldn't have wanted more feathers on either. you could have glues the feathers around the edge of the cake board though as an option.
sometimes you can't please everyone. i did cupcakes for someone once and she complained aboutthem as well. silly things that she hadn't even mentioned when she ordered them. oh well |

It looks great. according to my Wilton chart that cake would serve 50, 40 from the bottom layer, and 10 from the top, if it was only 2 inches, if it was 3 or4 it would have served 20. As for the feathers I know where she can put them. |

I think you did an amazing job on that cake, it is absolutely beautiful. I am just guestimating that it would probably serve about 68 if cut like wedding servings, at least 50 if cut otherwise. I think more feathers would have taken away from the design. Some people are never happy, no matter what. |
