I made one using a sheet cake - depending on how big you want it. I drew a template, ( horse shoe shaped). Baked the cakes froze and then carved them inwards. I left about 3" on top and 6" on the bottom. Then slanted it inwards so that the bottom of the cake is wider ( 6") I baked multiple cakes to stack and then carve.
Hope that helps. I used the round sprinkles for "people"

Panipuri, thanks for your reply. I have the horseshoe pan and am using it for the "track". I am just having a hard time figuring out how to make the stadium of people. Sad

Do you need for the stadium of people to be cake to be eaten or can it just be for looks?

round sprinkles, non-pariels. Perfect for a crowd of people.
