Embarassed Embarassed
I try, I really do. I try to give my kids the most memorable and fun birthday parties! I have 5 kids and I don't work, so most parties are at our house. I try to give them something special, like Saturday, my six year old had a the sweetest teaparty and invited her classmates.

Gilrs and boys came and we provided dress up clothes for all of them. It was really fun. We collected old tea cups from thrift stores and the kids picked out one to use during the party and then got to take it home. I made the teapot and teacup cookies. It was an awesome party.

At least until the cake! Of course it was my first teapot cake and it went beautifully. But I forgot to make the handle and spout in advance. I realized it did not have time to dry.

I thought Embarassed I remembered reading that you can stick them in the oven to dry.................I WAS WRONG! I was thinking of gumpaste, not fondant!

So I send hubby to the store for premade rice krispy treats. He brings home the generic brand and they are hard as a brick!!!! I had the hardest time shaping them. They were too heavy, so I was going to add them at the last second.

Well hubby walks in and says what are you doing? That looks just like a penis! Shocked I'm like, really? It really did! Embarassed

Then my daddy of all people walks in looks at the cake and says, why don't you just cut the spout off a little and it won't be so heavy? (uh, why didn't I think of that? Rolling Eyes )

It looked so much better after I trimmed it! Thankfully no one else saw it before the surgery! Laughing

Below are the before and after.......ENJOY!

Aaagh! You circumcised the teapot! Surprised LOL Seriously, though, I didn't think it looked that naughty before, but it sure did look cute afterwards! Great job on the cake and what a wonderful idea for the party! Smile

Boy did she! I don't think any of us would want her performing a circumcision on our sons! Funny story. My dh with his mind always in the gutter would have thought the same thing. I don't think it was that bad, but I really like the cute little short spout! Precious cake!

That cake is darling and the party idea sounds wonderful!
And even looking at the before picture, I wouldnt of thought of that. But that must be a guy thing. My DH does the same thing when Im making something. Or if he calls and asks what Im doing and I say Baking, he makes a comment about how I shouldnt be doing drugs with the kids. I guess its their humor. Men!
But great job!
