oh my goodness, my all time favorite Mike McCarey has his first DVD out! I know I cant believe it either.
Heres what the e-mail says:
We are excited to announce the new release of Mike’s first DVD in the
Cakenology educational series, “Car Cakes”!
The DVD covers the entire process for sculpting a 3-D to-scale car cake.
While the specific car demonstrated on the DVD is a Ford GT Mustang, the
principles can easily be applied to any sculpted car.
The DVD runs approximately 2 hrs and contains downloadable recipes for
buttercream, sculptable cake and modeling chocolate, as well as, supply lists and reference materials.
While our automated ordering website is still under construction, we are taking
orders directly by phone at this time for credit card purchases (Visa, MC &

The purchase price is $32.50 + $7.50 shipping and handling (USD) for addresses
within the US (please call for shipping rates outside the US). Orders will be

I'm sooooo buying this. My DH did the car cake in my photos (his 2nd cake) and he wants to do another. This would be a good excuse to buy it right.  It validates it for me at least.
I'll have to order it in another few weeks though since I'm tight on money right now.....darn school clothes, shoes and supplies. |

This is probably legit. but I am skeptical of everything these days. Where is Mike McCarey located? The 425 area code is in Washington State. I would be very leary of calling a phone number and giving them my credit card # unless I was sure it was on the up and up!

Thanks SweetResults, when I clicked on the link for the website, it wouldn't open on my PC and it just made me wonder if it was legit. I guess I'll have to let my PC allow it so I can take a look for myself. I'd love to have a DVD on doing 3D car cakes. My husband has a 67 barracuda and what a surprise that would be to make him a barracuda cake. I have made the car for him in fondant, it would be really neat to make it in cake!

I bought the DVD at ICES convention in July. It's good--lots of tips, some recipes...and be sure to watch it all the way to the end. |

Mike is my cake hero...I'm definitely getting this. I want to know more about the modeling chocolate, which seems to be his specialty. I have the email in my inbox to remind me to get it once I get a little more cake cash to spend! I'm kinda tight right now...just bought a laptop...
Plus I hate car cakes, done a few, hated every one of them. Looking forward to see how to do a real one! |

LOL, I hate car cakes too!!!! ...and I want him to do a modeling chocolate dvd too! I agree, that's what he is so good at and I want to know his secrets. |
