Hi all. I'm still a real newbie, but I'm learning soooo much from this site. My question is, if you are going to carve a cake, does is need to be frozen? Is it just the type of cake you use that makes it dense enough for you to carve? Could anyone give me some insight on how to go about carving? I'm probably getting in way over my head, but I am going to try a military tank for my son's 7th birthday. Thanks for any help. Very Happy

TIA,
Jen

Yes, it is best to freeze a cake before carving. If you don't freeze it, most cakes are too soft and will just crumble while you try to create a shape. As long as you wrap the cake properly to freeze, it should not alter the taste or consistency at all. HTH Very Happy

Thank you. If you freeze a cake, how long does it take to thaw??
