Smile my adorable husband decided that this year, he was going to make me a birthday cake. he's my biggest cheerleader, but he usually just watches or helps me with cutting boards and dowels and stuff. he never bakes or does anything like this, but he really did it all himself...baked, leveled, iced. made the BC himself, too...although to be fair, i'd had some trouble that same day getting my own BC totally smooth. guess it was just a bad-buttercream day. LOL. i think he appreciates a little more how much work it really is! but i just had to share his finished product...it's so ugly it's cute.

Hey, I'm just impressed he made you a 3 tiered cake. He did a good job, especially for his first cake. How sweet is he!

chocolate, of course!!! Very Happy i haven't had the heart to cut into it yet (plus my birthday isn't til tomorrow) but i had the cake scraps (just like he always does when i'm doing a cake!) and they were YUMMY.

it is 3 tiers...but each tier is a single layer, no filling, and it's not supported at all, just all stacked on top of each other! i'm waiting for it to collapse but so far so good. of course it is just an 8, 6, 4 so they're not too heavy. Smile

he's so sweet.

My Darling Husband made me a cake also for Mother's Day. I couldn't believe it. I was gone all day, so he had the kitchen to himself. My daughter came and helped with the decorating. He was so proud of himself because he was never taught how to do it, but has been watching me do everything and he says he learned by osmosis!!! What a sweetheart!!

I think he did a great job!!! You're a very lucky wife! Smile I don't think my husband would ever attempt to make me a cake, but a three tiered cake...forget about it! Smile He definitly gets extra points! Happy Birthday!

He done a great job. Your husband is as sweet as mine. Half of the pictures in my gallery, my husband did. LOL He tries and I am supportive of him. He even gets on CC to show his friends our cakes. I never knew it but secretively I think he really likes to decorate cakes.
