Wrap A Cake In Chocolate Layers, Pictorial!!
Decorating By Sarsi Updated 30 Apr 2013 , 4:18pm by alanajonesmann
I made this up quick for a cake buddy of mine, and thought I'd share it with everyone here! Please feel free to ask any questions. I learned how to do a chocolate wrap by reading ShirleyW's chocolate wrap instructions. This is my alteration of it! I highly recommend reading ShirlyW's chocolate wrap instuctions before this one! Hers are at the top of the "Cake Decorating" forum as well! Hope you all enjoy it!
Thanks also to Cakedesigns for formating this so that it can be posted here!

Sarah dear, you are such a sweetheart to share this with all of us ! And its very simple to use Great job !
Thanks so much buddy !
These are great - thank you! But - I didn't see ShirleyW's. Maybe I'm looking the wrong place.
I have one question -- don't you have to temper the chocolate for it to hold up? I've tried several times tempering chocolate - and it never works! I just don't get what I'm doing wrong.
You can use reg baking chips and I think also the Wilton choc disks or any of that kind of choc.
Yup, just use chocolate chips and melt them. I've never tempered it!! Always worked just great!!
Wow Sarsi! That is awesome!!! I can't wait to try it! Is that a white choco raspberry cheesecake?! YUMMY!!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time for sharing this with all of us!
gabbenmom- yes, it is a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake! I made it for a party my sister was having, it was the first cheesecake I made...since I can't stand cheesecake! LOL... Anyway, I heard that it was REALLY good! My sister and her husband were enjoying it so much they said "it was rich so you could only eat a little bit, but you wanted more, so you had to wait half an hour, then eat some more!!" LOL I got the recipe from allrecipes.com I very highly recommend it!!
Muchas gracias por compartir este tutorial con nosotras.
Thank you so much for sharing this pictorial with us.
Esta muy bien explicado y las fotos estan excelentes.
It is very well explained and the photos are excellent.
Thanks again.
Sarsi---thank you for the tutorial! The finished creation looks to die for! I did have one question the clear "stuff" your putting the chocolate on I could barely make out in the tutorial but does it say acetate? If so what is that?
Acetate is a plastic film... but it is thick enough to hold its shape...I'm not completely sure.... LOL...
I've also heard of people using Freezer paper for this technique but haven't tried it myself....
HTH!!!
I've never heard of that. I'll be sure to ask one of my instructors about it.
Thanks again for the tutorial. I visited the recipe site that you mentioned and printed off the recipe...It sure does look good! I cant wait to make it. I have about 4 other recipes that I want to try this weekend.
