National Capital Area Cake Show March 20 &21, 2009
Save the date & Join us for the National Capital Area Cake Show! NCACS is sponsored by the Virginia Chapter of ICES and is formerly part of The Mid-Atlantic Cake Show. Plan to attend the weekend of March 20 & 21, 2009, in Burke Virginia. We are excited about a new location, new “Interview with the couple” theme format and new requirements for the Wedding Cake Competition! And of course we will have the customary general divisions for cake, cookies, gingerbread, tasting, sugar and chocolate! There is a division for every skill level providing a special opportunity to showcase your own cake decorating skills. Also exciting classes, demonstrations, and cake supply vendors. A portion of the proceeds will go to support our charity partners Christie’s Christmas and Shelter House. Amie,
This is separate from and addition to the annual Mid-Atlantic Cake Show is MD, correct?
If so, what was the reason for the divergence this year? |

The Mid-Atlantic Cake Show was put on by both the VA and MD ICES. Just after the last show we decided that the show was large enough to support two shows. One in VA which we named The National Capital Area Cake Show and one in MD which went with the name The Great American Cake Show. So now there will be two great shows! Both formerly of MACS.

The cake show is put on by an all volunteer staff. We have a lot of fun while we are working very hard. If anyone would like to volunteer to be on a committee or would like to volunteer the weekend of the show please feel free to pm me! |

Hi All! We are currently looking for volunteers for all of the different committees! If you are interested in helping us put on a great show please PM me! Thanks! - Amie
Possible Volunteer activities include:
1. Bake sale -bring something to donate and / or work in booth
2. raffle - sell tickets at a table at the show
3. cake room proctor - walk aisles and say please don't touch, thank you
4. registration table - check in cakes Friday night or Sat morning
5. youth activities - help supervise, and teach the kids the projects in the youth area -
those are just a few...
We would love for people to volunteer in 2 hour blocks but we can work with you if you want to do more or less. Then just let me know which day?
BTW - The Divisional theme is going to be ...... Springtime! |

Room reservations must be received by March 6, 2009.
Room rates are $89.00 per night plus tax.
The room rate of $89.00 per night plus tax is for
Friday March 20 – Sunday March 22, 2009.
This does include a free Continental Breakfast.
Room rates for other nights are $112.00 per night plus tax.
All rooms come with coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
Each room has a microwave and mini fridge. |
