Hi all!

I am making a cake for my grandma's birthday... (tomarrow) I was asked last night to make it.

I have one layer in the oven a french vanilla cake

My question is .... how does

French vanilla cake with homemade blueberry filling
and chocolate with either vanilla, strawberry, or chocolate filling?

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't have a lot of time and this cake is going to be buttercream only because I don't have time to mess with fondant. (I have a meeting tomarrow morning about going back to school)

Thanks for all your help!

Nikki

Sorry no one has answered you:( Maybe you got some pm's

I'm not a blueberry fan but if your family like it go for it. It would pair well w/fr van
Choco goes great w/icing; bavairan creme; raspberry; strawberry; or choco filling....which do you have on hand &/or like the best? Smile

Thank you! Hmmm? I have strawberry jam and raspberry jam on hand... I also have homemade strawberry jam....

My family does like blueberry (my gram makes a special desert called blueberry potpie... it is soo good.

I think I will go with blueberry and strawberry.

All the kids are already excited that I'm making the cake. LOL

I made a french vanilla cake with raspberry filling and it was gone!!!
Blueberry sounds good too.
I would do chocolate with raspberry and vanilla with blueberry.
Good Luck tomorrow!

There is a small town by where my parents used to live in Minnesota that had a "Blueberry Days" festival each year. I have a recipe book devoted to nothing but blueberries, and it's great. One of their hints: team up blueberries with a citrus. For instance, lemon cake with blueberry filling. I've done a lemon pudding dessert that has blueberry pie filling on top, and it is divine!
