i found recipes on both and they both require chocolate and corn syrup?
Whatever you do, don't be foolish like me and buy the candy clay on clearance because it's cheap and convenient. I almost busted my wrist trying to knead it. lol
Let me know how the recipe turns out as far as how it dries. I've had some issues when I've made it but I think it was possibly because of the humidity in the house at the time.

They are basically the same, but to get technical "modeling chocolate" would be made with real chocolate, containing cocoa butter, and "candy clay" would be made with candy melts, which do not have any cocoa butter in them. I've seen recipes using either corn syrup or glucose. I don't really have any experience with either, so I can't help with any info on how they differ in working with them.
