Hi Everyone! I rented this recipe book from the library and wondered if anyone else had tried some of the recipes. I have Anne Byrn's other Cake Doctor books and like a lot of the recipes in them. If you like this book, what are your favorite recipes? I also notice she tends to put crumbs or cookies in the bottom of the cupcake liner before she pours the batter in...how well does that work. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Thanks Marisa for your response...I want to try the cookies and cream recipe...it sounds very good.
In the meantime, I decided to try the Cinnamon Toast Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting! YUMMY!!!!!! They tasted just like a cinnamon roll only softer! My friend is going to serve some of them at her church in the morning so I will see what other people think of them. |

I made the cinnamon toast cupcakes & they were good! I used some left-over buttercream with cinnamon added & no one had a single complaint! They are easy & think them well worth trying. |

SueB...just wanted to let you know I did make the cinnamon toast cuppies w/ cinnamon cream cheese (I used it as the filling) & topped them w/ mock buttercream flavoured w/ cinnamon roll oil. They were fantastic...as it stands the cookies & cream ones are #1 & the cinnamon toast #2 |

I'm glad everyone is liking the cinnamon toast cupcakes.
I'm hoping to try the Pineapple Banana Smoothie cupcakes and the Monster Monkey cupcakes this weekend. My bananas are just about ripe enough I'll post how they taste when I get them done. |

Ok...I had a chance to make the Pineapple Banana Smoothie cupcakes this weekend. I took them to work with me this morning and they were a hit! I'm not a real fruit loving person but the combination of pineapple and banana was great plus the pineapple buttercream was delicious!!!
I also tried the Ripe Banana Loaves recipe from the regular Cake Mix Doctor cookbook. I made one loaf and the rest of the batter into muffins. Then I topped them with cream cheese icing. They were delicious too!!!! Everyone liked them at work.
I'm hoping to hit a few more recipes this week and I'll let you know the verdict on them. |

Do the recipes also have weights, or are they in just cups, and tsps?
Thanx

They do have some weight measurements...like when it calls for a box cake mix it tells you 18.25 oz....but mostly it's cups and tsp etc. The only time it looks to maybe be different is if the 2 measurements wouldn't be the same. Like one recipe calls for 1 cup of white choc chips and then in () it says 6 oz. Hope this makes sense.... |
