Good afternoon CC!!! I'm the official poster for this particular TD... I'm not going to tell you who the contestants are yet .. Their theme is the beach theme obviously .. Have fun ya'll it's gonna be another hard decision!!
Rules are easy.. Pick your favorite and vote on the poll... The contest ends Saturday 28th at 12 noon CST
Good luck contestants and your cakes look wonderful
1 more thing I have to ask is please contestants do not respond to this thread
Also fellow CCers please keep this thread to the top as much as possible for me in case I can't seem to get to it Thanks a million
Description for contestant 1's cake:
This was a cake involving lots of firsts for me... First time using Luster Dust, first time molding a human figure, and first time covering the inside of a cylinder! Everything here is edible, no dummies used. I made my "beach" from a 12" hexagon pan, covered in fondant and roughed up to look like sand. The wave is Rice Krispie treats covered in fondant and spraypainted and the foam on the wave is buttercream. The starfish are molded fondant spraypainted orange and red. The shells are molded fondant spraypainted and then painted with Luster Dust. The surfer and crab are molded fondant.
Description for contestant 2's cake:
a little about the cake... everything ( i mean everything) is fondant.. the girl, shells, sea life, burger, soda, sun tan lotion, sandals, towel, rake and shovel... even the coral, rocks, shells and the bucket. The sand is mini nilla wafers that went through the mixer and at the last second i added some clear sugar crystals to add some sparkle... Umbrella is make with gumpaste, and then covered with colored fondant panels...the support is a fondant covered popsicle stick |

One of my all time favorite themes, and you both did an awesome job! I'm very impressed and now the difficult decision of trying to vote.............love the surfer dude - well done! Great job on the shells and the intricate piping on the wave.
I also love all the detail work on the 2nd cake with all the under-the-sea details and colors and the on-the-beach action and details. Great job molding the girl and all the beach paraphanelia! Very impressive! |

Great job on both cakes! I love the surfer and wave; incredible details! But I love the details of the beach items on the 2nd cake too! Tough choices! Again, super job to both of you! |
