Okay Im in a bit of a dilemma. I told my sister in law i would make cookie favours for my neices birthday - she is turning three. At first I thought I would wake elmo and cookie monster cookies but I honestly cant be bothered since I am also making the birthday cake and I work more than full time.
I was thinking about making fairy wand cookies instead since she loves her fairy wand and dress. I looked through the gallery but I only found a few photos I like.
I thought just doing a star cut out and making a glace type of icing coloured pink and before it dries to sprinkle either white cake sparkles or shimmer dust. Nice and easy but pretty at the same time.
Does anyone have any nice photos including packaging ideas? Should I use cake sparkles from WIlton? What would they look like on the icing? |

I did a wand on my cake in this pic, I also did cookies like this. I cut out the cookie in a star shape, covered it with fondant then put a little flower cutout on it, I rolled a fondant ball on the end of lollipop stick. I made them shimmer using dusts and clear cake sparkles. I dont have a pic of the cookies but you can get an idea from the pic of the wand. HTH!!!

I love the idea that Michelle found. I star cookies in pink with the scrolls are so cute. I think Wilton has those cake pans that you can stick the lollipop stick while it's baking.

They are beautiful. Thank you everyone for your suggestions I will try a few out.
Karen - My sister in law is Dutch so she will like that the idea came from her native land |

Okay I made cookie monster cookies in less than 10 minutes - so ignore the less than stellar appearance but since this is the first time making "decorated" cookies do I persevere with these or go for the easier wand? I asked my mom if they look like cookie monster and she said that well they look like a happy monster" or something to that effect. It wasnt too encouraging.
*Edit* I cant tell if the picture if coming up or not because I just see the word image but they are under my photos. |
