I have been wanting to use the pretty new cupcake holders for weddings and other events however they are much too expensive. I came up with the attached. It is made from a 10" Wilton grease proof doilly. The template is 8.5" from tip to tip and 2" wide however I would make them wider for a more dramatic look. Hope you enjoy these.

Oh No! They are not to be used in baking. Use only as decoration and a wrapper to display.

Remember, you can always cut these out of butcher paper that won't show grease stains and use the various punches available at the craft store to decorate the edges as needed for other events. I think they will add much value to your cupcakes without paying the $1 each on-line.

I had never seen these until this thread. I like the wrapping paper idea, too. Easy to change the design.

Lovely idea, thanks! I did some thinking and came up with this alternative. You can add all kinds of WONDERFUL things like ribbons, beads, pearls, glitter etc etc. They will work BEAUTIFULLY for weddings as you can personalise them ...

Go have a look at http://www.cakecentral.com/mod.....962&done=2
