My dtr is getting married in Sept and her intended is a cop. We would like to surprise him with a big ole donut grooms cake and I just can't seem to figure where to start. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I did a search and came up with nothing.

Make a 12" round cake or larger, take the 6" pan and use it as a guideline to cut the whole in the middle. Use a white chocolate glaze and put on sprinkles:)

How fun!

seems i've seen donut cakes in the gallery, have you searched there? try different spellings, like donut, doughnut, krispy, etc.

how big does it need to be? Maybe you could start with a bundt pan and carve from there

I would do 2-3 round cakes (sizes depending on the amount of cake you need) and slightly carve to give each a donut shape. Then put them on a plate, one flat on the bottom and the other 2 leaning on the bottom one. Make one chocolate, one covered in white fondant (heavily sprinkled with powedered sugar) and one with a pink or white frosting on top with sprinkles.

When the simpsons movie came out a lot of donuts and beer mugs were done. You might try searching for simpsons.

Hey!! With all the left-overs you'll have after carving, you can make cake balls and put them in a box and call them donut-holes!!! Rolling Eyes
