I want to make a sugar bottle, using hot sugar. Using the same concept they use to make the beer bottles, except I want my bottle to look like a jar and I want it to look clear almost see through. I want to make sugar bugs and insert them in the sugar as I'm pouring it. My question is what edible product could I use that wont melt under the heat of the sugar. I didn't know if I tried using GP that had hardened if that would work, or if I would need to use some sort of hard candy. Could anybody give me any advice or ideas on this.

Hmmm...not sure how well it would work, but they make candy bugs. My kids used to love getting them and trying to scare me with them. Don't remember anymore though, where we got them. Maybe try doing a web search for candy bugs. Hope this helps.
